BEYOND BASICS, for advanced beginners, will be offered Mondays, Oct. 11-Dec. 20 @ 1pm. This free, one-time class is for those already comfortable with mouse and keyboard, and who would like to find out what more they can do with their computer. Tumbleweed Tales Poetry group will meet Saturday, Oct. 2, @ 10am. All ages welcome, bring original poetry or old favorites to share.
The Library will offer our patrons a FINE AMNESTY during the week of Oct. 4 (thru Oct. 9). All fines will be removed on any overdue item returned during this week. The amnesty does NOT apply to fines already accrued.
The Library Scrabble Club meets every Monday, 3:00-5:30pm, no sign-up necessary. Boards are provided but you may bring your own if you’d like. Grab a Scrabble dictionary and a friend for lots of spelling fun with other Scrabble-rs.

Family Craft Day will begin again on Oct. 9 at 10am. Bring the kids and come make a free, fun “Ghost in the Graveyard” craft.
TCG (Trading Card Game) DUEL, for kids 11+, is held on Saturdays, 12-4:30. Meet others who love games such as Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh.
It’s that time again: our Halloween Can-for-a-Costume will be held Oct. 4-28 (or when supplies run out). Bring in a NEW can of food and exchange it for a costume or Halloween decoration (costumes are limited). All proceeds will be donated the Pahrump Food Bank.
Teen Night is back! The Library, with the Nye Communities Coalition and St. Martin's Episcopal Church, is sponsoring Teen Nights the 3rd Friday of the month. This is an alcohol, tobacco, and drug-free event.
The Pahrump Anime Club will hold its regular meeting at the library Saturday, Oct. 16, 12-4pm. Absolutely no unaccompanied children under the age of 10.
The Favorite Authors Book Club will meet Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 1:30pm. This month’s author is Jacquelyn Mitchard. Read any book by this author and come enjoy a lively discussion. New members always welcome, so bring a friend. For more information, call the library.
Fall Reading Program will be held Oct. 20 – Dec. 15. The theme is “Go Bananas for Books!” Sessions will be held: ages 2-3 on Wednesdays, 10:15-10:45am (parent or guardian must accompany child); ages 4-5 on Wednesdays, 11:00-11:45am; and ages 6-12 on Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30pm. This month’s Free Movie Day will be Saturday, October 23, 2pm. The feature title will be “How to Train Your Dragon” (rated PG). Free family fun.
Remember that many new and gently-used books are always on sale at the library—paperbacks 10¢ & up, hardbacks 50¢ & up. Videos, puzzles, audiobooks, childrens’ books, and book bundles are all available. As always, proceeds from all sales benefit the library.
