Events Calendar for November, 2009

Free computer instruction is available @ the library! COMPUTER CLASSES for beginning-level computer users are offered Wednesdays at 1pm. Sign-ups available at the library (no sign-ups by phone).

Tumbleweed Tales Society meets 1st Saturdays of each month, 10a.m.-noon. Next roundtable will be held Nov. 7. Bring original work or a favorite author to share. Open to all ages! For more info, email tumbleweedtales@yahoo.com.

Our newest group is in full swing: TCG (Trading Card Game) DUEL! Kids 11+ come on Saturdays, 12-4:30, and meet others who love games such as Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh!

It’s time again for our THANKSGIVING CANNED FOOD DRIVE, November 9-21. Bring in a NEW canned food to exchange for $1 in fines. All food will be donated to local food banks.

Saturday, November 14 is GAME-ON DAY @ the Library! Come enjoy games of all kinds! Free for all ages.

Shakespeare at Library! Read, discuss, enjoy Shakespeare every 3rd Saturday of the month, 9:30-11:30 a.m. The current reading is "Merchant of Venice." Next gathering: November 21. Also, enjoy Shakespeare Reader’s Theatre every Tuesday, 4-5:30 p.m. Our current reading is "Much Ado About Nothing." For more info, email ezshakespeare@yahoo.com.

It’s time again for the FALL READING PROGRAM! This year’s theme is “Catch a Good Book!” and it will start on Wedneday, Oct. 14 and run through Wednesday, Dec. 16. Classes are: Ages 2-3 on Wednesdays @9:15-9:45am (parent of guardian must accompany child); Ages 4-5 on Wednesdays @ 10-10:45am; Ages 6-12 on Wednesdays @ 3:30-4:30pm; and Teens on Thursdays @ 3-4pm (no session on 11/26). Free Fall fun @ the library! Teen Zone also continues, meeting on November 14 & 21 @ 2pm.

For all who like to knit and/or crochet, the KNIT WITS will meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, 1pm @ the library. November: Thursday, 11/12 (due to the holiday) & Wed. 11/25. Free and fun, bring your current project and come join others who love yarn crafting!

Join us for a free, fun Adult Workshop on Thursday, November 19 @ 1:00pm! Join us this month as we learn all about The Perfect Turkey Dinner! Samples, recipes, & more! Adults only; kids 14 & up welcome with an adult.

The Pahrump Anime Club will hold its regular meeting at the library Saturday, November 21, 12-4pm. Showings this month will be: 12:00- Inuyasha # 49 – 51; 1:00- Save Me! Lollipop # 3; 1:30- Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple # 5 (Sub-titled); 2:00- Sasami Magical Girls Club # 7-8; 3:00- Kaze no Stigma # 1- 2. Absolutely no unaccompanied children under the age of 10.

Our Favorite Authors Bookclub will meet Tuesday, November 17, at 1:30pm. This month’s author is Anita Shreve. Read anything by Ms. Shreve, then come enjoy a lively discussion! New members always welcome, so bring a friend! For more information, call the library.

This month’s Movie Day will be Saturday, November 28, 2pm. Feature title: TBA. Free family fun!
