Spring into the library!

Events Calendar for March, 2009

Visit the library during March to view the wonderful art on display for YOUTH ART MONTH! All artists are local kids. If you have art to display (and you’re under 18), please bring it to the library by March 13.

Free computer instruction is available @ the library! COMPUTER CLASSES for beginning-level computer users are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays. Sign-ups available at the library (no sign-ups by phone). Currently offering “Basic Computer,” “Beyond Basics,” “Advanced Basics,” “Internet Experience” and “Genealogy”— check at the library for dates & times. Sign up in the library; no sign-ups by phone.

It’s time again for the Winter Reading Program: Dino-Tails Reading! Free classes for all ages, no sign-up necessary. Beginning February 4, thru April 1. Tiny Dinos (age 2-3): Wednesdays @ 9:15am (parent or guardian must accompany child); T-Rex Tails (age 4-5): Wednesdays @ 10am; Story-Osauraus (age 6-12): Wednesdays @ 3:30pm; and Teens (5th grade & up): Thursdays @3pm.

TUMBLEWEED TALES POETRY GROUP will meet here Saturday, March 7, at our new time 12:30pm, and every 1st Saturday! Join us at the library to share, listen, and enjoy poetry. Original poetry encouraged, or just read an old favorite! All ages welcome! The group also offers Shakespeare Made Simple! on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10am and Shakespeare Reader’s Theatre on Tuesdays, 4-6pm. Free, for all ages.

Family Craft will be held Saturday, March 14. Bring the kids and enjoy some fun time together! 10-11am @ the library. This month we’ll make a free, fun St. Patrick’s Bear! Join Miss Brenda for seasonal fun!

This month we will host Raymond Visconti as he presents a Career Counseling workshop on March 3 @ 1pm followed by two Dream Interpretation Workshops on March 11 & 18 @ 5pm. Mr. Visconti holds a MA in Psychology and has spent 20 years in the Human Resources field and in researching and teaching dream psychology. A number of topics will be covered. Free to everyone!

Yoga for Kids! will be offered by instructor Linda Sampson (Cmt, CYT) Saturdays @ 11am. Kids can learn the relaxing benefits of yoga! Free, for ages 4-9.

Our Favorite Authors Bookclub will meet Tuesday, March 17, at 12pm. This month’s book is “The Secret Life of Bees” by Sue Monk Kidd. Read the book, then come enjoy book discussion, movie viewing, and potluck lunch—with lively discussion! New members always welcome, so bring a friend! For more information, call the library.

Join us for a free, fun Adult Workshop on Thursday, March 19! We’ll try our hand at “Candle Making.” A small charge may apply. Supplies will be furnished. Adults only; kids 14 & up welcome with an adult.

The Pahrump Anime Club will hold its regular meeting at the library Saturday, March 21, 12-4pm. Showings this month will be: TBA. Absolutely no unaccompanied children under the age of 10.

This month’s Movie Day will be Saturday, March 28, 2pm. Feature title: “Bolt” Rated PG. Free family fun!
