It’s time again for our THANKSGIVING CANNED FOOD DRIVE, November 9-21. Bring in a NEW canned food to exchange for $1 in fines. All food will be donated to local food banks.

It’s time again for the FALL READING PROGRAM! This year’s theme is “Catch a Good Book!” and it will start on Wedneday, Oct. 14 and run through Wednesday, Dec. 16. Classes are: Ages 2-3 on Wednesdays @9:15-9:45am (parent of guardian must accompany child); Ages 4-5 on Wednesdays @ 10-10:45am; Ages 6-12 on Wednesdays @ 3:30-4:30pm; and Teens on Thursdays @ 3-4pm (no session on 11/26). Free Fall fun @ the library! Teen Zone also continues, meeting on November 14 & 21 @ 2pm.

For all who like to knit and/or crochet, the KNIT WITS will meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, 1pm @ the library. November: Thursday, 11/12 (due to the holiday) & Wed. 11/25. Free and fun, bring your current project and come join others who love yarn crafting!

This month we will host Raymond Visconti as he presents Dream Interpretation Workshops on Wednesdays in April @ 5pm. March is Youth Art Month at the Pahrump Community Library! We will be displaying art work by local artists, age 18 and younger. If you would like your work displayed, please bring it to the library after Feb. 23. Work must be clearly labeled: artist's name, age and title of work on the front; telephone on back or bottom. All types of art accepted: drawings, paintings, crayon, sculpture, etc. Depending upon the number of items received, displayed works may rotate. Library staff will make every effort to secure the items but cannot be held responsible for damage or theft. Original poetry encouraged, or just read an old favorite! All ages welcome! And now the group offers 2 new classes! Shakespeare Made Simple! Held the 3rd Saturday of each month, 10am-12n. This casual workshop will explore plays, words, character, & history—just for fun! And Tuesdays, 4-6pm, enjoy Shakespeare Readers’ Theatre! Both are free and open to all ages.

It’s time again for the PCL SUMMER READING PROGRAM! June 10-July 16. This year’s theme: “Catch the Reading Bug!” Sign up now; free classes available for all ages. Flutter Buzzers (age 4-5) Tuesdays, 9-10am; Creepy Crawly Critters (age 6-11) Tuesdays, 10:20-11:45am OR Wednesdays 1-2:15pm (attend one session only); The Good & (B)Ugly Bugs (5th grade & up) Wednesdays, 2:30-3:30pm. This month the library will have a Foster Family Clothing Drive, to collect necessary items for local foster families. Please bring your new or gently-used items to the library during April. All items will be used by local agencies.
