Gotta love the library!

Events Calendar for February, 2009


Free computer instruction is available @ the library! COMPUTER CLASSES for beginning-level computer users are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays. Sign-ups available at the library (no sign-ups by phone). Currently offering “Basic Computer,” “Beyond Basics,” “Advanced Basics,” “Internet Experience” and “Genealogy”— check at the library for dates & times. Sign up in the library; no sign-ups by phone.

It’s time again for the Winter Reading Program: Dino-Tails Reading! Free classes for all ages, no sign-up necessary. Beginning February 4, thru April 1. Tiny Dinos (age 2-3): Wednesdays @ 9:15am (parent or guardian must accompany child); T-Rex Tails (age 4-5): Wednesdays @ 10am; Story-Osauraus (age 6-12): Wednesdays @ 3:30pm; and Teens (5th grade & up): Thursdays @3pm.

TUMBLEWEED TALES POETRY GROUP will meet here Saturday, February 7, at 10am, and every 1st Saturday! Join us at the library to share, listen, and enjoy poetry. Original poetry encouraged, or just read an old favorite! All ages welcome! The group also offers Shakespeare Made Simple! on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10am and Shakespeare Reader’s Theatre on Tuesdays, 4-6pm. Free, for all ages.

Family Craft will be held Saturday, February 14. Bring the kids and enjoy some fun time together! 10-11am @ the library. This month we’ll make a free, fun Valentine Card! Join Miss Brenda for seasonal fun!

This month we will host a Coin Seminar, presented by John Bundy. Come to the library Saturday, February 14, 10am-2pm to examine, discuss, and learn about coins and coin collecting. Free to everyone!

Yoga for Kids! will be offered by instructor Linda Sampson (Cmt, CYT) Saturdays @ 11am. Kids can learn the relaxing benefits of yoga! Free, for ages 4-9. (Please note: No yoga Feb. 28.)

Our Favorite Authors Bookclub will meet Tuesday, February 17, at 1:30pm. This month’s author is James Patterson. Read anything by Mr. Patterson, then come enjoy a lively discussion! New members always welcome, so bring a friend!

Join us for a free, fun Adult Workshop on Thursday, February 19! We’ll make cute “Conversation Heart Tees.” Please bring your own white (or light colored) 100% cotton t-shirt. All other supplies will be furnished. Free, fun & easy! Adults only; kids 14 & up welcome with an adult.

The Pahrump Anime Club will hold its regular meeting at the library Saturday, February 21, 12-4pm. Showings this month will be: 12:00- Bleach # 1- 2(Sub-titled), 1:00- ghost hunt # 1-2 (English), 2:00- Inuyasha # 23- 25 (English), 3:00- Devil May Cry # 9 (Sub-Titled), 3:30- Ragnarok # 7 (English). Also this month we are celebrating our 3rd Anniversary! There will be lots of stuff to do--and prizes! Remember to bring your raffle tickets! Absolutely no unaccompanied children under the age of 10.

Visit the library during the week of February 23-28 for a great PAPERBACK BOOK SALE! Lots of titles, great prices! All proceeds to benefit the library.

This month’s Movie Day will be Saturday, February 28, 2pm. Feature title: “Space Buddies” Rated G. Free family fun!
