Library kiss

September is Library Card Sign-up month, and if there's anything librarians love, it's giving out new cards! Come by and get yours during the month of September and get a sweet kiss from one of our friendly librarians! All you need to get a new card is proof of residence and your ID. New library cards are always FREE! Remember: a library card is the smartest card in anyone's wallet!

It's new! And (hopefully) improved!

If you got here from our homepage you may already know: the library website has been re-done. Hopefully, it's a little easier to navigate and find what you're looking for. Please let me know if you find any problems, or if you like it better. If you found this blog without going through the library's site, please check it out! Lots of info, fun stuff, and links, links, and more links!

Last month of "summer freedom"

Ah, August--heat, swimming, popsicles--and getting ready for "back to school!" Guess what? The library is having a School Supply Drive all month! We hope lots of you will get involved and bring us your new items to donate. The past couple of years we've had a great response to this community effort (thanks, Pahrump!) and, hopefully, this year will be no different. This time we'll be giving all the proceeds from the drive to local area schools, for distribution to their teachers for use in the classrooms. Just our way of helping out and showing our educators that we realize what an important job they have: the education of the leaders of tomorrow! Won't you do your part? Bring your donations to the library anytime during our regular hours.
